Just because you have anti-virus software on your PC does not necessarily mean that you constantly have the latest virus definitions. To keep current with virus definitions, be sure to update your virus definitions. Ask your anti-virus software vendor if you are unsure how to do this!
If you've been a victim to what is called Spyware or Malware. These software programs are typically installed through holes in Microsoft software without your knowledge. Spyware / Malware can also be installed when you install another wanted application. To help prevent installation of spyware, keep your Windows operating system patched by using Windows Updates. With E-data or Tier1 service, there is only one PC at a time allowed to be connected to the cable modem. If you change the PC that is connected to the cable modem, you will need to reboot the cable modem. Other levels of service allow for more PC's to be connected simultaneously. Tier 2 service allows for 4 computers to be connected, and Business Tier allows for 8.
